It’s hard to remember, given that four months feels like a year in the TCG community—but Palworld Dawn of Palpagos was massive. The Palworld TCG was off to a huge start, and to put it into perspective, I’m a Pokémon TCG site that saw the new Bushiroad game become my biggest hit in July. Now, however, the sophomore expansion has dropped massively in value, and other data suggests that the hype is dying down, which is good news for players or collectors.
Despite the Palworld Legends Awaken chase cards being, in my opinion, absolute bangers, booster boxes for the new Palworld TCG set have dropped in market price. According to TCGPlayer, sales were roughly $139 in late September 2026. Now, the market price is an average of $44. That’s a 68% drop in under three months.
A similar, although less impactful, story is happening with Dawn of Palpagos booster boxes. In July, TCGPlayer saw over 200 sales with an average value of $129. The market price is now $88, representing a 31% drop. Even personally speaking, Kanto Post has seen a huge decrease in traffic, and Google Trends shows searches for the Palworld TCG term dropping massively since July.
What happened? Well, there are probably a few reasons. For one, the initial expansion was the first-ever Palworld TCG set. You can’t have another ‘first set’, and a lot of people who are interested in TCGs but not specifically Palworld were intrigued. Since then, that interest has died down.

Secondly, stock shortages can certainly have a negative effect on casual collectors or players. With scalpers taking a lot of the initial stock, those who were interested likely wouldn’t want to pay way above retail for products. That disappointment may have carried over into the next expansion, too.
Or, well, it could just be the hype settling. It’s easy to see a massive peak and assume things are dropping off, but it could be that the only people interested are Palworld TCG collectors or players, and casual interest has fallen off. The Palworld TCG market is like any other trading card game market—if mainstream interest drops, what’s left is a passionate, smaller community.
Either way, this is only good for those still deeply interested in the TCG. That means stock may be more affordable, it’ll be easier to get those expansions on release day, and hopefully, the chase cards will also drop in price. I’m still waiting for the Dawn of Palpagos chase cards to drop more.
